Trip to Budapest, Bratislava, Warsaw and Prague – Plan

Hello my blog readers, thank you so much for reading my blog and appreciating me. Once again I am ready to share my travel experience…

Hello my Blog readers,

Its time for a long trip as it is Holiday time in Germany. I planned for at least 4 countries in 7 days (from 21st Dec to 28th Dec 2018).  Actually this plan got so many changes from the day, I started planning. I made a mistake in checking the routes prior booking bus tickets and stay, for that reason I had to change the countries. Later I understood that I need to check routes then book tickets and then stay.

I considered routes, timings, feasibility and all other factors and came to a conclusion for Budapest, Bratislava, Warsaw and Prague.

For the first time I planned to take Flixbus 5 country pass which costed 99€ per person. I booked Flixbus pass and after 48 hrs I received coupons which I used to book tickets. As per the plan I booked my stay in Airbnb as they provide flexible check-in timings and also I thought it is the right way to understand their cultures.

Here is the plan…

Budapest (Hungary) – 2 days
Bratislava (Slovakia) – 2 days
Warsaw (Poland) – 2 days
Prague (Czech republic) – 1 day, mis-planned 😦

While planning the trip, I prepared a excel with all important places to visit, their timings and entrance fees, which made easy to calculate, how much euros I need to convert to local currency. Only Bratislava has euro as currency, while all other countries have their own currency.

As it is a long trip, I would split it, into different parts and post it accordingly.

Part 1 – Trip to Budapest
Part 2 – Trip to Bratislava
Part 3 – Trip to Warsaw
Part 4 – Trip to Prague

So, here we go…

As it was a winter long trip, I don’t wanted to carry much luggage as sometimes I need to roam the cities with my luggage. So I followed the saying ‘Less luggage more comfort’. I packed only necessary clothes, toiletries and minimum snacks just to survive in bus.

Before hand I exchanged euros to local currency.

Budapest (Hungary) – Hungarian Forint (HUF), exchanged 83€
Bratislava (Slovakia) – Euros – No conversion
Warsaw (Poland) – Polish Zloty (PLN), exchanged 100€
Prague (Czech republic) – Czech koruna (CZK), exchanged 50€

My journey started on Friday 21st December. I finished my work and left office by 1pm (its a usual time to leave office on Fridays). So I got home, packed few pending items and relaxed for sometime. After dinner, I reached Traunstein station and took a Bavarian pass to reach Munich as my bus starts from Munich at 11pm. By the time I reached Munich, it was raining so I bought a hot coffee and boarded the bus to Budapest.

Expenses:

Flixbus for 2 persons: 99€+99€ = 198€
Bavarian pass for 2 persons: 31€
Coffee at Munich station: 1.20€

Thats all for now, see you in Part 1 – Budapest
